It all started with our travels : Johannesburg, Paris, London, Milan, New York, Casablanca...
Our dream of the exotic and our desire to create beauty. Our love of leather and our selection of the most elegant hides.
Noble materials and warm hues, in homage to nature and its rich landscapes - to the peoples of the world we have encountered along the way, and especially to South Africa, its blue skies and ochre earth, that splendid land where our dream of the first collection of Owen&Savary leather bracelets was born.
As the emblem of our brand we chose the splendid spiral horns of the Great Kudu, South Africa’s majestic antelope. Not because we use its leather or its horns in our products – we don’t – but as a symbol of our love and respect for the wildlife of Africa.
History
After many travels, a meeting of minds – and the birth of a collection
We met through our children, outside the French school in Johannesburg. We were both painters and we were inspired by the visual spectacle of Africa.
We exchanged ideas and decided to create together a line of luxury leather accessories.
Our travels around the world have greatly contributed to this project.
As we embark on a new creation, we draw on our memories of different lifestyles and fashions.
Our inspiration ranges from the vivid colours of the souks in Morocco to the eclectic buzz of the cutting-edge streets of New York City, as well as all those small details which make our lives more beautiful and more practical.
We created our first leather cuff, the “Salomé”, the jewel in the crown of our collection, with the idea in mind of a special type of woman, elegant and active, modern and international.
We settled back in Europe, in London and Paris and founded our brand, Owen&Savary.
We set up our company in London in November 2008, but it was in France that we discovered our artisans,in a region renowned for its expertise in fine leatherwork.
The substance
The bracelet
Our aim is to create bracelets that are exceptionally comfortable, elegant and distinctive.
As ‘bespoke’ items of jewellery, each bracelet is unique, destined for a single individual.
The leather
Leather is an obvious choice for those who want to enter the refined world of luxury accessories. By choosing to work with leather, we are also satisfying our desire to be in contact with the most noble and natural material. Leather breathes, it has a warmth and a scent of its own. Each hide has a distinctive texture which makes every bracelet different.
Because it is made of leather, an Owen&Savary bracelet will, over time, develop a sheen highlighting its beauty.
"Made in France"
The Owen&Savary bracelets are all made exclusively in France. Our challenge is to promote the values of excellence for which French craftsmanship is renowned. This enables us to give each one of our creations the quality, elegance and emotional impact true to a “Made in France” product that is recognizable worldwide.
The designers

Kira Owen graduated from Cambridge University (UK) with a masters degree in modern languages and has worked for an international design agency as well as in fashion while following her husband’s career around the world (Amsterdam, Madrid, New York, Milan, Geneva, Johannesburg, Paris). She has two children, Giulia and Maximilien. After moving to Paris, Kira teamed up with Valerie Savary to found the Owen&Savary brand. -
Valérie Savary studied economics at the University of Paris X/Nanterre and also has a degree in business studies from the Chambre de Commerce et d’Industrie in Paris. After experience in multimedia creative work, she studied art and took up a painting career while looking after her three daughters Salomé, Capucine and Candice in France, Morocco and South Africa. She then settled down in London where she founded the Owen&Savary brand with partner Kira Owen.
